It feels easier than ever to have FOMO this summer in Pittsburgh this summer. It seems like dozens of cool festivals, concerts, restaurant specials and other events are happening each week — simultaneously. The challenge isn’t finding something to do, it’s making a choice! This week, June 15-21 in Pittsburgh’s East End, you can enjoy musical performances, community celebration events, seminars, workshops and more.

Community Scan Day

Do you have boxes of old photographs lying around your home, but you don’t know what to do with them? Digitize them for free at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh — Squirrel Hill. Staff can help you sort through your collection and save them online; you’ll preserve your memories, even if the originals are damaged or lost. You’ll also have the option to donate digital copies to the CLP’s Community Collection and be a part of local history archives! Acceptable items include print photographs, handwritten or typed documents, negatives and slides; be sure to bring your own flash drive or portable hard drive.
