For nearly 3 decades, SHADY AVE has chronicled the lives, homes, culture, and philanthropic spirit of Pittsburgh’s East End and surrounding communities.
Founded in 1996, the magazine became a beloved fixture under the leadership
of Nancy Polinski Johnson — cherished for its emphasis on community story telling, neighborhood pride, and enduring craftsmanship. In 2026, SHADY AVE begins a new chapter under TABLE Media Inc., with renewed investment in editorial excellence, premium print production, audience development, and local partnerships. The heart of the magazine remains unchanged: we tell the stories of people and places that define some of Western Pennsylvania’s most historic and influential neighborhoods.
