Roots to Petals Studio & Shop, in Oakmont, is abloom with fresh-cut flowers, potted plants, and fun workshops. Located in the former Oakmont Bakery space, the new venue features garden-inspired bouquets, floral arrangements, hanging baskets, and assorted houseplants, plus a flower bar and worktable with a locally sourced oak top for green-thumbed do-it-yourselfers.

The studio hosts hands-on classes where budding botanophiles can cultivate their talent for container gardening, wreath-making, dahlia growing, and similar endeavors. Roots to Petals is owned by Oakmont resident Lauren Marzullo, a former corporate lawyer who turned her passion for gardening into the micro-urban flower farm and home-based business Burgh Bouquets, the precursor to her current venture.
Marzullo grows or locally sources much of the shop’s seasonal stock, including Iceland poppies, anemone, cosmos, specialty asters, chrysanthemums, and sunflowers. She especially loves dahlias.
“We’re really excited to create a gathering space where people can come and have an experience,” Marzullo says. A small gift shop on the premises carries candles from Oakmont Candle Works, boxed botanical chocolates, and a large selection of greeting cards.
A small private room is available to rent for parties and team-building events. BYOB is allowed and nearby Pickles & Pancetta can provide personal charcuterie boards for $15.
