There’s no better reason to visit Squirrel Hill than a trip to the Squirrel Hill Night Market — a free, outdoor street festival that highlights all the neighborhood has to offer. This year’s Night Markets are set for June 27, August 22 and September 26.
Squirrel Hill Night Market Kicks Off for 2026
For each Night Market, Murray Avenue closes between Forbes Avenue and Beacon Street. The street is packed with food, from trendy food trucks to local restaurants including Silk Elephant and Aiello’s Pizza. More than 70 local artists selling handmade wares (organized by event co-sponsor I Made It! Market) join food vendors, plus local businesses and community groups.
There are also chess tables waiting for those who enjoy a challenge of critical and strategic thinking.
Beyond the Booths
There is a rhythm to the evening at the Night Market. If you stop by when the event begins (at 6 p.m.), you’ll see families and children — and, of course, some friendly dogs. Students from the Sunburst School of Music house band kick off the evening, adding lively atmosphere. (More bands take the stage at the beginning of each hour.)
While some food trucks do run out of grub before the event ends at 10 pm, vendors and community groups always hold out until the last minute.
Neighbors, friends, students and visitors are all welcome to join us for a fun evening of food, music and local treasure.
