The Community Calendar: Events Throughout Pittsburgh July 6-12

Exhausted from the holiday weekend — or the oppressive heat we’ve been facing? Or does the summer sun leave you energized and ready to keep partying? No matter what your mood, this week’s community events from July 6-12 in Pittsburgh offers a mix of indoor and outdoor events with varying degrees of socialization. Chill out with a movie, grab a drink at a night market or dance the night away at a house party or gala.

Pittsburgh Community Events July 6-12

Grist House Night Market

July 6, Grist House

Got the Monday blues coming out of the holiday weekend? Head to Grist House after work and keep the good vibes going! The Millvale patio and taproom will host about 20 vendors with vintage and handmade goods, art, records and more.

Cult-O-Rama: Sea Beasts Unleashed!

July 10, Row House Lawrenceville

Beat the heat with a double feature inside the cinema. This month, Row House Lawrenceville brings a curated selection of sea-beast horror. Bait (2012), about a group of Aussies stuck in a flooded supermarket filled with hungry sharks, will be paired with Piranha (2010), a remake of the 1978 film. In Piranha, spring breakers (notably including Adam Scott) battle prehistoric piranhas released from below by an earthquake. Beware: these films may throw a wrench in your upcoming beach plans.

House Party: Mic Drop!

July 11, Kelly Stayhorn Theater

Dance the night away in support of Kelly Strayhorn Theater’s fall programming at the hottest house party in Pittsburgh! The evening begins with a VIP reception, where guests will enjoy an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres and special guest karaoke performances. The full dance party kicks off at 9 p.m.; donors will get the mic and a chance to perform for the crowd.

Regent Square Bar Crawl

July 11, Regent Square

Regent Square Civic Association’s third annual bar crawl takes you through the neighborhood’s best spots with new and longtime neighbors alike. Tickets get you one complimentary drink at participating bars (including El Burro Dos, Hemlock House, Murphy’s Tap Room and D’s Loft); proceeds benefit the RSCA’s neighborhood events and holiday light displays.
